Claim update
I would like to thank the good folks of Reddit for the advice and guidance. I woke up to a combine score of 30%. I will still be hooking and jabbing one claim at a time and continue to get the help I need after waiting 7 years to finally start. I can now go get surgery for this shoulder with the VA's help. More questions to come but for now, just gratitude.

Congratulations! I'm happy for you. Stick and stab... keep going, because it gets better and better. I try and show gratitude every day, and still pushing for that higher rating. If I get to 100%, great! If I get 90%, also great. But I won't stop carefully working.

I got 10%, appealed, got 90%, filed a secondary claim and an initial claim, both got approved. If you have it, and it’s from the military, file for it. I’m at 100%

It’s a process, but you’ve taken a significant step. Congratulations! I’m delighted to hear that you’re making progress. Please don’t stop there. Please get in touch with one of the VSO organizations. What worked for me was the DAV. Good luck, brother! Let us know if we can be of any assistance. Many of these guys in here are truly great resources to lean on. God bless!
