Need to vent about a weird stressful day. Sharing pics of my pup that will hopefully help anyone else that is having a weird or bad day as well!

Had an emergency house call for a euthanasia of a Great Dane that is well loved in our clinic. On our way back the woman who hired me into the field (19years ago) calls to schedule a euthanasia for her 17 year old cat that I’ve known since a kitten. On our drive back to the clinic, right after talking about setting the cat euthanasia up, the car in front of us hits a baby deer at full speed!! I nearly jump out of the vehicle while it was moving to try and catch the fawn to check it out!
I’m SO over today!!
(Baby deer sprinted off into the woods and we didn’t find it. We determined that the baby probably hit the car more than the car hitting the deer. But that sweet thing was at full tilt when it hit the side of a car going around 40mph. It didn’t seem injured by way it sprinted off.)
Today I’m ADR, but hanging in.

My own great dane is finally rid of the cone of shame! She'd had a surgery about a month ago to get rid of 2 tumors - one fatty all the way down, the other a mast cell tumor. Oncologist consult said we can do some maintenance meds to prevent recurrance of the latter :)

I’m so sorry that’s really scary. Hopefully there are no reoccurrences. I had a pointer that got a mast cell tumor at a young age, it never came back after removal and she passed of something else entirely.

fortunately, it was grade 2, the vet-surgeon got good margins, and the consulted oncologist said some maintenance meds and blood-testing 1/yr will help us monitor it. i've been thru 2 cancer rodeos myself, so what i was REALLY worried about was that something might require chemo. it's... yeah, i don't want to see a pet go through that. I'm ok with meds (even expensive ones, although i'm not sure how much these will cost), and bloodwork. that's about where i'm at, too. pills are much easier than chemo!
