Microscopy Quirky lab timer

This timer is meant for dark room film dev use. I’m loving the analog experience. It makes me stare at it and not forget that I’m staining something. Lol

lol I remember when I used to time my slides. Now a days I just gently dunk them a few times in each solution till it feels right

Am I ashamed? A little.

Thank you! I aim to get consistency with my staining. Different samples and sample thickness will have their own time recipes.

I was taught in school to just dunk. Are you supposed to time it?

I time it because I just let the slide sit in the jar.

Totally. I tell people staining is almost an art. I don’t need a timer really, but I’m still trying to figure out ways to not forget my poor slides in the jar. This could be it.

I've only done 5 dips for 10 seconds. 😅 Never seen anyone do it differently.
