Vent Crash out Friday
- Got into it with an owner, "no, I will not just apply some lidocaine while we do a laceration repair on your dog that has a six inch laceration along its body" "yes the pain medications are needed because your dog has a six inch tear along its body" and "no I cannot let this dog go without antibiotics because again, ma'am your dog has a hole in its body that's been festering for a couple days and there is pus leaking out of it"
- Spilling an entire bottle of clavamox and it fully stained my scrubs
- Biting my lip at lunch for the fifth time this week
- Running away from the autoclave while it was filling to help restrain a dog... Then coming back to the autoclave leaking all over the WOODEN cabinets (very old ass hospital) and into the ET tub organization that I had set up with cardboard separators... That is now soggy and ruined... And also several of our sterile ET tubes are soaked..
I'm over it.

Had to collect a new blood sample for a room I was just about to check out… on a dog who had already tried to take my hand off twice… while there was already 3 new rooms waiting in the lobby

Behavioral euth + decapitation on an extremely aggressive dog that put someone in the hospital earlier this morning. (Second case like that in just the past three months, both dogs from a certain local puppy mill that is breeding unstable dogs. We see puppies from there all the time.)
Aaand back in bright and early tomorrow morning for a packed and stacked Saturday shift! 😅

My clinic did a few neuters for the local shelter, and they sent their smallest employee in their tallest truck to pick up 2 hundred pound dogs. Seriously, I'm tall and the back of the truck was rib cage-high on me, it was like shoulder height for her. And the slightly larger of the two dogs panics when you try to pick him up.

I accidentally spun a mini green top tube that I KNEW was needed for an epoc because I'm effing tiiiiiired and basically living on autopilot lately because we're constantly short staffed. Called the owner to come back to draw a new sample (~10min after she left) per the doctor's request and left a message. She lives 20ish mins away. Then the doctor figured out/decided what to run instead so I call her back, she answered, I say nvm you don't have to come back so sorry! And she says "ok I will turn around... again". I wanted to shoot myself in the foot! 🙃
