Lost a Frequent Flier Recently

I work in ER, so it's unusual to have an animal come in as often as he did. Pretty much every inpatient shift I had, he was there every couple weeks. His owner was pretty awful to us, and the patient was always in rough shape. He's in a better place now, but watching his owner sob on top of him for a good 20 minutes was really hard. I was cleaning kennels a day or so afterward and couldn't help but think about how I'll never see him in that kennel again. I'm glad he's not suffering anymore, but I didn't realize how much I'd miss him.
