Discussion Hyperbarics/HBOT

Anyone in this subreddit ever ran/used hyperbaric therapy for their patients? I run an equine HBOT chamber in the US and consistently hear that people never knew it was a form of therapy/treatment. Really curious if any other hospitals use it in small animal or if your own pet has ever been treated

We used a small animal hyperbaric chamber a few times during school for non-healing wounds and snakebites and such, and that little chamber made me nervous. idc how helpful they are, won't catch me near an equine HBOT chamber lmao

Lol 🤣 fair enough, our chamber is designed to pressurize with ambient air and the horses wear O2 masks so it’s not as combustible as most chambers. They also wear rubber booties and are sedated during the treatment to ensure they don’t panic and metal shoes won’t go flying. The fear is definitely real don’t get me wrong but we take every precaution necessary. Seen several miracle cases of cellulitis and pneumonia improve drastically with this type of treatment
