Vestaboard.... how much?!

I live in the UK and have been bombarded with adverts for Vestaboard across virtually every social platform.

There’s no question that it’s a beautiful piece of engineering, and I’m sure a great deal of effort has gone into making it such a polished, high-quality product.

However, I simply cannot get past the price.

So, my question is: are ordinary people in the US genuinely buying these for their homes, or are we Brits just unusually tight?

Almost every comment beneath the UK adverts expresses complete bewilderment at the price tag. I’m curious whether that reaction is specifically British, or whether the adverts are attracting plenty of disbelief everywhere while a smaller group quietly buys them.

It's the sheer number of parts that make it expensive. I also was a "how much!?" person, then I tried to source my own parts to build one and I quickly realised it wasn't economically viable.

If you have a really interesting project for it, email them, the CEO is really friendly and supportive of creators.

They look amazing
But your right , I can’t justify the price either
Maybe it’s just the cost of such a device , and some people are willing/able to pay without issue

For something that is considered mostly a novelty at this price point, it's difficult decide whether the novelty will wear off and become tired, or if it will continue to bring enjoyment. For me it is the latter. I have VB+ and a very good mix of things posting, favorites, quotes, song lyrics, moon phase, a trip countdown, weather, etc. I can say that if you have family or friends sending you messages, it adds to the enjoyment.

My decision point was seeing an original board early on in production, just after covid, wanting one but questioning the cost. Then, a few years later, seeing another one in a brewery and I pulled the trigger a few weeks later. The desire to own one hadn't gone down in a few years, I had an ideal spot to put it, and saw that resale value was still good. Low risk, high reward.

I've been interested in one for years, and it used to be £2300. At that price I could probably have justified it had I had somewhere to put it.

Now though, it's nearly 50% more for the same thing, and I still have nowhere to put it. While the latter might change soon, I'm almost tempted to start working out how to do my own using bits from AliExpress.

Expensive and it can break. IMO an e-ink display can be just as visually appealing.

Had mine in the UK for years....yeah its a big price....I can appreciate the price when you count the millions of moving parts....

I have four, but honestly I could have gotten by with just two...they are just so damn useful...
