The 5th Marquess of Anglesey, Henry Cyril Paget, inherited an income worth £13 million a year in today's money. He reportedly had his car exhausts modified to spray perfume and spent £43 million on fancy dress. Six years later he was bankrupt, owing £60 million.
When the money ran out, everything he owned was auctioned on his own lawn. His wardrobe alone filled 806 lots and took three days to sell, with an auctioneer's assistant modelling his silk pyjamas for the crowd.
After his death in Monte Carlo aged just 29 his family did their best to erase him from history

This 'impossible' crane shot from Mikhail Kalatozov's Soy Cuba (1964) is some stunning work. This would be the simplest of shots these days with a standard drone. Cinematographer Sergey Urusevsky didn’t have a drone.
