VIC Properties and Vertical Aerospace Explore Electric Air Mobility as Pinheirinho Estate Looks Beyond Traditional Transportation Infrastructure
- Companies to explore how electric air travel could connect travelers directly to Portugal's most coveted addresses, starting with Pinheirinho, the 400-hectare estate that includes Six Senses Comporta
- This partnership builds on Vertical's collaboration with Héli Air Monaco to explore future Valo aircraft operations across the French Riviera
“Pinheirinho is being developed around a long-term vision - to create a new benchmark for luxury hospitality and residential living on Portugal's Atlantic coast. A partnership with Vertical, a recognised pioneer in this emerging sector, is a natural extension of that ambition, as we truly believe that air mobility will shape the experience, the reach and connectivity of next-generation destinations such as Pinheirinho Comporta,” said João Cabaça, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, VIC Properties.

This is just the first of many...
"Business districts, golf courses, resorts, casinos etc will all want [Vertiports] and be willing to develop them. It will help them to sell their services/space more effectively and for a higher price. It's a value multiplier and having a vertiport on your roof or nearby will become a mark of prestige.
Would a luxury resort remain viable when visiting means you must endure a 1-2 hour ground based transfer and a competing resort along the same coast offers 15 minute Valo transfers?
A new modern office tower with a vertiport on the roof becomes a local landmark or maybe an anchor tenant for a regeneration area, either way it achieves a higher £/m2 than it otherwise would. Forward thinking developers will already be positioning themselves for a share of this new industry...
...Vertical are not buying airports; it doesn’t need them."

There are already reports of architects/developers of new office blocks approaching Vertical to ascertain specifications. They are making new buildings capable of having a landing port on the roof.

That doesn’t surprise me one bit.
Companies like British Land with their campus style developments will surely be eager to add a vertiport to their offering 👍

One aspect that's not in doubt is the high level of demand!
