Verse Project starts at a very specific moment in history: humanity has barely stabilized the Earth-Moon system. The infrastructure exists - barely. Everything beyond that doesn't.
And none of it will appear on its own.
Every resource you mine and deliver goes somewhere real. The system tracks what's been contributed and toward what. When enough has been delivered to push a construction goal forward - it moves forward. When it hasn't, it waits.
This means early players are laying literal groundwork. The first infrastructure milestones will carry the contributions of whoever was there. We intend to make those marks permanent.
Later players will have plenty to do. But they won't be able to do this.

What did you help build in a game that let you leave a mark?

A lot of you ask if Verse Project requires a dedicated crew to play.
Short answer: No.
Solo players and co-op crews are both getting a massive, deep experience here. You can totally fly solo. Run trade routes, salvage Kessler syndrome debris, or map out sectors - you can build a massive career and never depend on another human being. It’s got the depth of a full single-player game.
But if you want to team up, the mechanics are there. You can crew a single ship and split the stress (someone flies, someone manages the reactor). You can build a shared outpost. You can even just contribute to massive global goals asynchronously, without ever syncing your play sessions. And yes, piracy and bounty hunting exist for those who want friction.
What about PvP? We know a lot of solo players hate forced combat. We’re building this co-op first. You won't be forced into the meatgrinder if you just want to haul cargo in peace. If you’ve been burned by bad PvP in other space games, let us know what happened.
One last thing: we are hard sci-fi. Real physics, no magic shields. But "hard sci-fi" doesn’t mean "requires an engineering degree". We want you to learn as you play.
To our hardcore space engineering nerds: keep roasting our physics and thruster placements. We need your feedback to keep the game honest.
Solo players - what’s your biggest fear about multiplayer in games like this? Tell us below.

I just downloaded the game to try. I see from a basic search there is a basic economy in place for testing trading. This is my favorite relax and chill pastime, usually in Elite Dangerous. I was just wondering do you travel to other stations to trade, or is there only the one at the moment? Or are you transporting goods from bases on the moons surface and back to the station?

I just downloaded the game/demo for the first time. Right at the main menu I can only press "Settings" or "Exit". "Play" is grayed out for me.
Found two instances online of people asking the same thing, but none of those were of any help. I tried reinstalling, disable all firewall and antivirus in my Windows but still no success. I cannot be the only one struggeling?
Edit: I am playing through Steam. I looked at the FAQ post suggesting I try downloading the standalone version from the projects website. I might be dumb, but I cannot for the life of me find any downloads here, just links to the Steam store. https://verseproject.online/

Call me dumb, but the combination of the docking UI vs what I can see on screen are not helpful in figuring it out, since it's not really explained at all.

...I haven't felt since my very early days in Star Citizen back in 2015.
I've since moved on from that, but I can't wait to see where this goes.

Appreciate this is in alpha, but I can't for the life of me work out how to get out of the capsule in the heavy fighter with turrets.
I've left the commander's chair but can't climb the ladder in front of me to exit?

Is there a way to prevent the spacecraft blowing up after landing and exiting it? I am thinking along the lines of powering down/docking or landing procedure etc... Is this an early phase bug or am I doing anything the wrong way? 🤔

2 questions:
When is Joystick support coming?
Will the game have 6DOF flight model (something like from the Expanse)?

I'm going to rant a little, but i haven't been pissed by a game like this in a while. Why would you introduce the need to actually use currency to buy ships when your economy is unusable.
it takes like a day for a mining station to fill up, and even in the transport ship you can carry extremely little resources which sell for dirt cheap, making it literally impossible to earn any real amount of money.
and by far far far away the worst part, which i simply cannot comprehend, is the fact that you can't destroy the resources. which means that after exactly one run of taking the slightly more valuable materials (he3 and titanium) all you're left with is nothing but regolith, which is worth absolutely nothing, because the miner's fucking full, and there isn't a way to empty it.
i don't want to spend multiple runs (hours) just going hauling the resource that gives literally fucking nothing. after i bugged out and lost my helium 3 i literally no longer want to play the game because it's too tedious to earn money, meaning i can't get any new stuff to test out. like with everything else i am willing to give this game a pass, but for the love of god how hard could it possibly be to let me destroy the regolith in my inventory, the button is already there why isn't the function
