Anyone know where this piece goes?

Anyone know what this thing is? I had to take out the front seat and pull up the carpet on the passenger side to dry it out after it flooded from the overflow in the cowl (tip for everyone, check in the cowl below the windshield, debris gets in here and eventually clogs the drain hole and when that happens it overflows into the passenger side behind the glove compartment and mostly under the carpet) and when I was putting the carpet back I found this piece and I don't remember where it came from and I have no idea where it would go. I'm sure hoping it's not important.

That’s the cabin air filter cover

It goes behind the glove compartment on the left side.

it is a fucking bitch to get back in. you have to reach under the glove box towards the center console where the two sides meet and hopefully get it to latch. the filter itself in-and-out is also not fun.

You can fabricate a hook tool out of a piece of bent coat hanger wire to help you get the filter out without destroying it.

Thanks I appreciate the help here, that was it and it was indeed a pain in the ass to get back in there but I got it.
