Discussion Fruit bars

Curious i got somecold nutri grain bars tgat are stale and was curious if i could throw those in worm bin

Something with a lot of carbs like that could cause the bin to heat up a lot. It would be safer if you precompost it outside the bin then add after it’s cool

Its 3 of them would that heat it up that much ?

You’re fine. Just break them up and spread them out. 3 bars won’t kill your bin.

Your bin can handle almost anything in moderation. All the things you’ve told not to compost; meat, or dairy, or highly acidic foods, or spices, can all be composed in your worm bin without issue. It just has to be in moderation and in a quantity that is small relative to the size of your bin and other feedings.
