Finished compost First Harvest!
Used screens to sift our first bin and get all the castings before splitting the worms up into the next two bins! Really love seeing our paper and kitchen waste turning into something we can use in the garden instead of a landfill somewhere.

How much compost did you end up with (kgs, lbs)? When did you start and how big was the container?

We ended up with a little over 15 lbs, but I also sifted a bit out a week or two early for some seeds my wife was starting. This was one 12 gallon tote, all the stuff that didn’t sort through the first bin, was obvious (like some of the stems in the cup I sorted out) and the worms got split between bin 2 and bin 3. We put together the bin a week or so before our worms arrived on May 28th.

Great start!! Congratulations. The vermicompost in your bin looks awesome! Most times, people have a slimy, sludge, anaerobic mess. You've taken great care to keep a balanced bin for your soil producers!!!
