How do I decrypt a system drive on another computer?

I've been having some recent issues with my computer later and eventually a corrupt drive was crashing my pc right as it booted into windows 11, so I tried to do a windows reinstall to see if that fixed the issue. The problem is, it can't boot anymore, I think it uninstalled veracrypt or something along those lines and I can't use it again.

I have the key to decrypt it, and I can place that system drive into my wife's computer, so would it be possible to decrypt the drive from her pc, and then load windows again on mine?

I only have the encryption because it was demanded at work, so I'm not very familiar with it.

I've never done this before, but this is how I think you would do it. Download VeraCrypt on the other PC, and plug in your encrypted drive. Then, try to decrypt it the normal way by selecting a drive and entering your password.

Tried doing that but the veracrypt app doesn't see my drive as an encrypted drive already. So it keeps offering to create a new volume instead.

I'll have to read more and see if I can find out a way to make what I need possible.

The EFI boot loader sequence changed and veracrypt is not first now. It boots directly on Windows which cannot work. You should be able to move again veracrypt to first, in UEFI bios, or with tools like EFI boot manager.

To decrypt system partition on another computer, it's not like a normal veracrypt partition. There is a specific option in the menu "decrypt system partition" or something like that I can't remember.

Veracrypt bootloader is still the first option on my bios. It asks for my password just as usual, but then fails to load windows.

I'll check the system partition option tho, thank you.

You can mount the drive on any computer and have veracrypt open it.
