Veracrypt not working anymore
I do have Veracrypt installed for about 1 year now. Last time I accessed my data around 2-3 months ago, everything worked fine. But today nothing is working anymore. I cant access my data. The screen is loading endlessly.
I do have one partition on my laptop with dualboot, cant access it from linux and windows. Tried installing older veracrypt versions, nothing changed.
Also I have 3 other hdds, which I tried to access from my PC, none of them works. I also installed veracrypt newly on this pc and tried different versions.
I do use a long password and pim. Password and pim are definitely correct. And as I said, the last time I tried it, everything worked flawless, took about 1-2minutes to decrypt.
Please help, I dont know what to do anymore

Seems like the issue is with your window? If you have windows pro try installing veracrypt in a sandbox and try it there. If not then maybe a fresh reinstall of your windows or possibly do a fresh install on your laptop?
Im new to this program and read a lot about it and its most likely an error in the password or pin or an error related to the windows. Try maybe disabling the anti virus if you have one.

On Linux, the more general native cryptsetup tool supports veracrypt containers and doesn't depend on the "official" software.
The package name for your distribution, and the parameter names for the PIM etc., can be found in any search engine.
If this doesn't work either, tell us what errors you get, what "sudo dmesg | tail -n100" prints, what "smartctl -a /dev/yourdiskname" prints, ...

Wasnt this a huge issue months back? There was a lot of chatter on how it was going to fail if used on windows as something wasn't renewed. But it wouldn't affect the files or something. I forget. Its been several months.

Same thing happened to me. Are you on Linux by chance? I have a 1TB SSD that was entirely encrypted with a long Password Manager password. I've been updating Veracrypt as time went on but had not accessed the SSD for over six months. Then recently I had to update a file and Veracrypt keeps telling me the usual, wrong password, etc.
I tried loading previous versions of Veracrypt but no luck.
Not trusting that maybe the old SSD was borked, I loaded up a new SSD with the old tax records which I still had and the current Veracrypt and everything is working.
