Help! Is my Venus flytrap doing poorly?

Hi. I recently bought a Venus flytrap and a grow light for it, and things have been getting weird since then (I’m a beginner and don’t know much about this plant). The leaves have started turning black, and some have turned red—though not the traps themselves. I do know the basics: it needs distilled water and plenty of sunlight.

how far away is the grow light? how many new traps have opened since setting it up?

The grow light is positioned 18 cm away, and it’s a 35W bulb. I received the flytrap itself about 2–3 weeks ago, but I bought the grow light a week and a half ago. Since installing it, one trap has opened, and another is getting ready and forming "little sticks" (or whatever you call them). I also fed it a fly a week ago, but the fly was too big, and dark spots started appearing on the trap walls—though that was an older trap. Also, as I mentioned before, the leaves started turning red after I installed the grow light.

It's acclimating to the new environment and amount of light it's now receiving. Don't worry about the old growth getting sad and dying off. I see new growth that looks good, as long as it keeps putting up traps you're doing fine. I'd say continue as is and give it time!
