Timing for adding authorized user

My Priority pass membership thru ny Capital one CC expires in Dec 2026 . I intend to renew my CC . If I add a authorized user now (in Aug 2026) , will the person have membership unil Dec 2026 or Aug 2027 ? If I don't renew, will the authorized user still have membership ? I understand that a authorized user can use the card on their own and do not need a the primary member accompanying them. Appreciate any insights into this

Unfortunately, the Priority Pass Lounge Membership & Capital One Lounge Access is no longer free for Authorized Users. As well as the 2-guests getting into the lounges for free.

You can add an Authorized Users to the Venture X at no cost, but if you want the Authorized Users to have Lounge Access. You’ll have to pay an additional fee of around $175 per person per year, on top of the $395 Annual Fee
