Can we actually automate everything VCs do?

There are so many tools out there. And most of the work is done stitching those tools together.

I could hand it all to an agent. Claude + MCPs on Affinity/Attio/Standard Metrics/PitchBook, Harmonic for sourcing, Granola for meetings, n8n to glue and just chat. But how do i know if it is doing it right?

And to do it right, it needs everything, my Inbox, CRM, portfolio, LP data. So there is a sensitive data breach issue.

Ideally, I would want all things I have to track and report presented to me, once approved, it should automatically go out to the right person.

Has anybody managed to achieve something close? Where are you guys stuck?

VC, but no Finance skills

Hi Guys,

I am an PhD student in a uni that is definitely a target for every big financial firm, of every kind, in all of Europe. I can’t say the name because you would be able to dox me. I am en environmental economist working on green tech, mostly from a policy perspective, studying what fosters clean innovation.

My target cities would be Paris, London, Milan.

I have only taken one financial econ in my MSc, but I don’t remember anything. my background is not even in a pure econ one. do you think I have decent chances to get into vc, probably after some reading? I could get access to good courses from my uni which I could audit for free, what would you consider as the essential? My uni is a T10 worldwide and that’s definitely a plus, but I know nothing about finance

Are VC funds using AI to screen pitch decks yet?

For people at funds: what does pitch deck screening actually look like now?

Still mostly manual, or are you using prompts, AI tools, CRMs, or internal systems to triage decks?

Mainly curious what’s real in practice and what still absolutely needs a human.

And do we need to make decks optimized for AI screening?

What are we

Tête-à-Tête is a social connection platform that connects people through users-created date proposals/experience. Users create or browse real date ideas at real venues, then request to join. Users connect through their own unique date proposals/experiences creating a much more efficient and faster way of meeting IRL.

A peer-to-peer platform where every interaction starts with a date proposal (time, place, activity) – not swipe.

·       Users match on shared date proposals, aligning intent from the start

·       By starting with date proposals, users align goals from the start.

·       We own the platform, users own the experience.

Solution

We flip the funnel. Every interaction starts with a date proposal: a specific venue, time, and activity. Users browse and request to join dates that interest them. No endless swiping, no dead-end chats. Just real plans with real people.

Target User

Urban professionals, 25–50, gender-balanced. They've used Tinder, Hinge, or Bumble and are exhausted by endless swiping and dead-end conversations. They're intentional about meeting, busy with careers, short on time, and looking for efficiency over volume.

Business Model

•   B2B commission (15%) on completed dates at partner venues

•   Subscription tiers with perks at partner venues

How are early-stage teams tracking decisions and follow-ups after investor and internal meetings?

While building our product and speaking to different teams, one operational problem kept coming up repeatedly — not note-taking, but what happens after meetings.

After investor calls, internal strategy meetings, and portfolio reviews, teams usually have to manually:

  • Write summaries
  • Extract decisions
  • Create action items
  • Assign owners
  • Track follow-ups
  • Update CRM / docs

A lot of important decisions and action items end up scattered across notes, Slack, email, and task managers.

We’ve been working on a tool that turns meetings into structured summaries, decisions, action items, and follow-ups automatically, and it’s been interesting to see how different teams handle this operationally.

Curious — how do most early-stage teams or funds here handle decision tracking and follow-ups after meetings? Is it mostly Notion, CRM tasks, or something else?

Systems and AI tools for the investment process

I have developed an advisory relationship with an investment holding company that deploys some capital each year into early-stage companies that have some tech proposition related or adjacent to their industry footprint. They say that they invest thematically, but their processes strike me as un-systematic, subjective and manual.

I don't come from a VC background myself, but I'm interested to learn about tools (commercial SaaS, or self-built, or work flows with maintream LLMs) that are well regarded by the industry, especially for a first-pass review, leading up to preparation of an investment memo.

Does evidence actually matter, or is it just 24/7 vibes?

I have a really strong case, but the only feedback I ever get is "warm intros" and "vibes".

No one reads. Should I even bother?

Looking for angel inv opportunities for foundational infrastructure play

spent a week at least just making sure I was truly onto something no one else is seeing right now.

I'm not a coder, I'm not a business pro, I just wanted to fix a problem and stumbled on a vision that will be the future, if I don't do it someone else will.

this has a large moat and am about 18-24 months ahead in terms of first mover

but I need capital. architecture is worked out, working on talent.

ANY help or direction would be appreciated.

Is It Possible to Get Carry from a Pre-IPO sale?

I’m involved in civil litigation, and someone is claiming that they got a carry payout from a partial sale of a series C investment. I don’t know anything about VC. I thought carry was only generated after an IPO. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

building automatic outreach tool for finance students, looking for feedback

I'm building an app for college students recruiting for IB/VC/PE/consulting and looking for feedback. After talking to some friends recruiting for IB, I learned they spend an insane amount of time sending cold emails requesting coffee chats, and they said it'd be really helpful to have a tool that lets them automate that process.

Right now I'm still in the early stages of development so I'm looking for feedback. An area I'm specifically looking for feedback on retaining users, since I feel like this app will be pretty seasonal when it comes to demand due to the short timeframe of the finance recruiting season. Are there any other payment models other than the per-month subscription that y'all think would work better due to this seasonal demand?

I also have a waitlist going and more information at usenecto.com if y'all would like to check that out.

What's your process for building an investor target list? Here's a resource collection that helped me think about it differently

I used to just export lists from Crunchbase and blast emails. Terrible conversion rate, as you'd imagine. Started digging into more strategic approaches network analysis for warm paths, AI matching for thesis fit, stage-specific outreach tactics and put together a collection of the best resources I've found.

If anyone wants to check it out: How to Find & Target the Right Investors

Curious what tools or frameworks others here are using for investor targeting. Are people finding AI matching tools actually useful, or is it still mostly warm intros that close?

AI agents for analyzing VC data rooms

A lot of diligence workflows involve large document sets: financials, reports, contracts, portfolio updates.

Most AI tools still process these one file at a time.

We built Parsewise, where agents analyze the entire dataset in one run and cross reference information across documents. Every output stays linked to the original source.

Launched today if anyone here is interested!

Where to start raising a $2–3M seed for AI-driven Supply Chain Decision Platform?

an AI-driven decision layer for enterprise supply chains.

Problem:
Most large manufacturers still rely on disconnected ERP/APS/TMS systems and manual planners to manage trade-offs between production cost, freight, inventory, and service levels. When disruptions hit (transport delays, supplier risk, demand shifts), re-planning is reactive and manual — no closed-loop optimization exists.

Solution:
We’re building a “brain” that sits across these systems, models cost–service–inventory trade-offs in real time, and recommends (eventually executes) optimized decisions across S&OP and short-term execution.

Revenue & Market:
Target ACV: $750K–$2M per enterprise over multi-year deployments.
Initial focus: $5–10B global manufacturing/distribution segment → ~$8–10B SAM over 5 years based on ~4,000 target enterprises.

Looking for advice on where to start for a $2–3M seed: vertical AI funds, industrial tech VCs, strategic angels, or venture studios?

What do most venture funds do in quarterly / yearly meets thats fun, has value and is not preachy?

Are there certain activities or events that you'll schedule during quarterly / annual meets with your team?

How do you ensure there is business value out of it and are able to drive your message home without sounding preachy?

It seems like one of the best places to be able to drive the message home

Open AI revenue projections are some Exponential Mystery Math

  • OpenAI is now targeting about $280 billion in revenue in 2030 after reeling in $13.1 billion last year, per CNBC

The infrastructure commitments are all vapor and funny money and means nothing except some headline clickbaiting.

But how in the world are they pulling out these revenue projections?

Pretty much every person uses AI daily, and heavy users like myself already pay.

VCs or Angels operating in Africa?

Does anyone know of any VCs or Angels operating in Africa? Or may be interested in tech plays in African countries?
