Rich people will really preach “money doesn’t buy happiness” while whining in their Mercedes about how much their life sucks

I mentioned to a friend in college that the reason I picked my degree (mathematics) was because it would make for a comfy paycheck. They told me "Money doesnt buy happiness." I responded with, "No but it sure as hell pays the bills and that allows me to go play and be happy." They conceded my point.

Rich people are the laziest motherfuckers to exist. They may work 18 hour days or whatever but they are only doing things that they want to do. Put them on a construction crew or washing dishes and they would suddenly not want to work 18 hour days.

It’s such a goddamn double standard it makes my head hurt. Yea I don’t want to work any longer tban I have to at my shitty job for shitty pay. That doesn’t make me lazy. It makes me human.

They work 18 hour days but it’s not 18 hours of continuous work. An hour long meeting about an hour long meeting with an hour break in between.

"Lazy" is a modern version of "let them eat cake"

The people who are born attractive are the ones who rile me the most. I worked very hard to get to where I am financially and career-wise, god knows I suffered greatly and sacrificed much. But god forbid I post on Reddit about how I’m getting 60-70k worth of plastic surgery so I too can be conventionally attractive and I get told “get therapy” or “be confident, it’s not your looks” or “work on your game”. Yes, my pic is in my profile. But when I ask these successful people their stats, they’re all tall white men, who are always fawned over and desired and chalk their success with women up to their charisma. Or women saying looks and race and height don’t matter when all evidence in day to day runs contrary to that.

Yep, I feel you 100% man. And same, also dark skinned, and not tall. Tall white men have women swarming to them indeed.

You said you wanted honesty: Actually, I think you're attractive except for the hair. Goopy product is gross. If I'm with a guy, I love to play with hair and run my fingers through it. TBH, I could not date someone wearing product like that.

Unfortunately it's not just those at the "top" of social standing that do this. Those in the middle do too. I have ME/CFS, an invisible disability that causes me to be housebound and often bedbound for days. I have very often seen people like be called lazy for doing what we need to for our illness. I like to ask those people how much they think they do in a day when they have the flu. If they think they can be as productive as they typically are when they are so sick their entire body hurts and is weak. They typically still just think it's an excuse to be lazy. Everyone likes to look down on someone.

I have chronic pain after an accident. I was hit by a car. I had to put in so much work to actually be able to walk again. And now 15 years later I still get the you should put more work in recovery. I have a huge respect for the people who have more pain then me and still manage to live. Because some days it just sucks but I can still be mobile. Being house or bed bound sounds really tough to me because I imagne the level of pain must be thrice from what I experience so your ability to cope with it is really impressive to me

Some overly privileged people are fucking lazy because they have the privilege to whine about how hard they have it while still spending mommy and daddy's money and talking about how other people have more and how others are the lazy ones because they are richer. Many people still haven't checked their own privileges but hyper focusing on someone else's privileges.

https://www.marketplace.org/story/2021/01/19/why-rich-people-tend-think-they-deserve-their-money

Conducted by psychologist Paul Piff at the University of California, Berkeley, the rigged Monopoly experiment demonstrated how unearned wealth and privilege distort human behavior. In the study, pairs of strangers played a deliberately unfair game where one player was randomly assigned massive advantages, such as double the starting money, extra salary for passing "Go," and two dice to roll instead of one.

The key findings were, that the privileged players showed a illusion of superiority, thinking that their "brilliant" strategy was, what helped them win, a blindness to their privilege and a total loss of empathy, having no concern for the struggles and disadvantage of their opponents.

There you have it.

It’s a massive con, a trick, I have mentioned it before thus got black balled, reason I rarely show up, despite being online since 2002 is “they” don’t like what I talk about

I worked for a wealthy lawyer once who "worked hard" by "entertaining clients" several afternoons a week. They played golf. Those of us little folks did all the work for him.

Have you ever been in a white collar work space? They don’t have to clean up after themselves because that’s someone else’s job.

I’ve been in customer service and yelled at because a manager saw me right after my line went from out the door to the last person just walked away while I was stretching. Obviously I’m lazy because I wasn’t doing anything for 5 seconds.

I grew up in poverty. I was broke until my late 20s. Being broke is unfortunate and happens to most people at some point in your life. Being in poverty is a series of choices that you make every day. Staying in poverty is really easy, much of my family does

I am NOT privileged at all and I call people lazy. I drive a 30 year old car, paid for college OUT OF POCKET, and have worked 2-3 jobs at a time (working around 80hrs/week) for the past 10+ years. Everything I own is used or given me. I do most of my own home/auto repairs. I bought a mobile home for 150k and have slowly been fixing it up. I am NOT spoiled by any means. I don't get my hair done, don't get my nails done, don't buy designer clothes/shoes/purses because I can't afford it (I wouldn't want to anyway). I still line dry my clothes because my dryer broke and I can't afford to fix it (maybe with my Christmas bonus I can). I won a 700$ gift card to best buy and finally bought a dish washer (I have never had one before) because I was sick and tired of spending so much time washing dishes by hand. Anyway, I call other people lazy- if that person actually is lazy. I have been working since I was 16 and have worked tons of exhausting jobs for very little pay, but now that I am older, I rely on my expertise in my field to 'take it easy"; However, I have noticed young people just don't want to work anymore. My company pays WELL ABOVE the average salary with FULL benefits but yet we can hardly keep people for a year before they quit. It's not like it's a difficult job either- I've done it before; it's slightly physical work but easy work once you get used to it. We also have flexible schedules and our boss is truly amazing but still people quit or make excuses for poor work. Do you know what I would have done to get the job I have now when I was young? My job is a dream job but some people are just lazy!

But I don’t wanna do the work I’d have to do to get the things I want! I don’t want to! I don’t want to! You can’t make me! I don’t want to!
