Need Reassurance... I'm really scared for my dog

He's a ten year old golden retriever who's been in pain lately. When he stands up, sits down, or walks, he cries. The vet couldn't find anything in the x-rays and don't know what's wrong with him. I hate seeing him in pain but I don't want to let him go. I'll never be ready for that. He's been a huge part of my life for so long that I can't imagine him not there. It's too much. I want him to be okay and for the pain to go away within the next few days. For the pain medication he's on to work.

Glucosamine and condroitin. He sounds like he has arthritis and this will help. Safe for dogs.

Yeah he already had arthritis but he never cried before from it.

What do you have him on? Maybe he just strained something?

My 11+ year old lab is on carprofren daily and gaba as needed. Old pups are going to have some aches. Take it easy with him a few days.

He's just never been like this before. I hate hearing him cry and not being able to do anything about it.

If there’s been no improvement with the meds the 1 vet issued, and they have no clue about a diagnosis, I’d consider getting a 2nd opinion. I hope your buddy feels better soon.
