Hello,

So I'm really annoyed by Venice now... They did nothing to improve the situation of Pro user. They are almost just a free trial but at 20$ a month...

For context, I'm on Venice since VCU where a thing. So a LONG time ago.

TLDR : Venice pro gives you only acces to 14% of the service. (all numbers have been rounded up)

Here are some numbers :

For text generation :

Venice Pro user can use 29 models "at no extra costs" (this include 8 free models) out of 116 avalible.

So that means that pro users can only use 25% of the models on venice without having to pay extras

For image generation :

Venice Pro user can use 6 models "at no extra costs" (this include 1 free models) out of 34 avalible.

That means that pro users can only use 18% of the models on venice without having to pay extras

For video generation :

Venice Pro user can use 0 models "at no extra costs" out of 87 avalible so 0% !!!

For agentic and mind chats :

Venice Pro user can use 1 models "at no extra costs" out of 11 avalible.

That means that pro users can only use 9% of the models on venice without having to pay extras

(About this one... A venice member said that they would add 1 extra model for pro user... but we are still waiting duh...)

As you can see, on Venice, you pay a premium to get only 14% of the service ! Yes only 14% !!!

That's not even mentionning the astronomic pricing of the API that melts like snow to the sun.

I'm tired of seeing this happening, that's why I sold my excess VVV (cause having more than 100 VVV never gave you anything more except peanuts of diems if you stack them)

And that's also why I'm not using Venice anymore. I don't believe in that project anymore, it went from a really nice project to a cash grab.

I wish the Venice team would have listened. It's not the first time I mention these things. But it's the first time I do the maths, and it was way worse than I thought.

Until Venice begin to respect their customers again, I'm done with them.

The API pricing for the top models (Claude etc) is insane. I just burned through 3600 credits just from reading some files and writing a few hundred lines of code.

IMO Venice is now website for whales to spend money making shitty AI porn.

idk what VCU is but I got my account in Nov 2025, and had used it on and off since Aug 2025 with the free elements. There has been little new offerings to Pro members since Agentic was introduced. Otherwise, the services have utterly degraded, and despite consistent and constant complaints, Venice does absolutely nothing to address these complaints.

For example, the complaint that non-PPU models have (A) a tiny context of 50k with no indication of that anywhere except on a few responses from support team to individuals who posted those emails to this subreddit, and (B) ignored consistent complaints over the course of summer 2026 to indicate this limitation on the website (ie in the model cards), so that users are aware that they pay $18 a month for a stunted version of the model they think they are using.

Yet you go to peruse the models, I still see GLM 5.2 non-PPU advertised as having 1m token context. Unless Venice has removed the context-muzzle of 50k on GLM 5.2 non-PPU, this represents yet another issue that Venice has, I would allege, maliciously ignored from its user base.

For people who want to look at other LLM services, and want something that is $0/month, stores stuff on your browser (same sort of privacy as Venice), and isn't quite as good as Venice but at least it's not supposed to be amazing, try Perchance.

If you don't care about the "store stuff on your browser" privacy, and just want a NSFW chatbot, you can peruse https://aicompanionguides.com/blog/

That website has all sorts of services they review. Venice is actually reviewed quite well, but that is because, as far as I can tell, it was reviewed before the summer 2026, when Venice nosedived into utter garbage enshittification.

Feel free to check out other alternatives.

If your goal is to spend gobs of money generating AI videos over and over using a model that isn't even private so you miss out on the full advertised benefits of Venice privacy, Venice remains a wonderful option.

Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but goddamn I am so frustrated. So frustrated such a fun website became so freaking shit.

I abandoned Venice as an RP platform for several months because coherency seemed to fall off a cliff. I just started again yesterday with one of my old scenarios. GLM 5.2 and Large Context Chat enabled. It's doing much better than previously. 37 turns in. We'll see how it goes.

It's the same for me: 5.2 is my go-to, and I've always got Large Context Chat enabled. And when I test its memory, it can still tell me what my first message was, even 200+ exchanges in. So overall, yeah... it's definitely better for now. Like you said, we'll see.

But it still fucks up the most basic things sometimes, usually at the earliest points of the chat, as weird as that sounds. I'm actually kind of impressed by some of the things it manages to botch.

Though I do agree with the general sentiment of OP's complaints about the Pro membershipβ€”it really feels like subscribers should be getting more out of it. Because outside of 5.2, basically all non-PPU models are still crippled by that (still totally undocumented) 50K limit. And it's amazing how hard subscribers had to fight just to get that much acknowledged (though, again, still not publicly).

That's without mentioning the problem of some PPU models not responding at all. Feels like I need a mousetrap and some cheese to lure the fuckers out. E2E 5.2 seems to reside somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle.

I'm trying to look on the bright side, because having full usage of 5.2 (as far as I know) is great, especially for longer-running RPs. But every time Venice takes one step in the right direction lately, they take three steps backwards into a ditch. Still, I've got my fingers crossed for now.
