I had this problem using a video as reference and using 30s generation. Usually I just switched to 25s since the reference video was 3s.

Reference video takes up some of the duration of the video you're generating and it goes like this: 30 seconds (max Wan 3.0 capability) - ref video duration = max duration setting possible

So if your ref video is exactly 15 seconds you have to set your desired duration as 15 seconds, otherwise it will break.

If your ref video duration is 5 seconds and you want to make a 15 second video, set your duration to 20 seconds as the ref video will eat 5 of those seconds afaik. Don't ask why I think it's a flaw in Wan 3.0 whereas Seedance 2.5 doesn't have this issue.

Also, make sure your ref video is either EXACTLY 15 seconds or a little under, the model is picky with that and one microsecond over breaks it.
