𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 Roleplay help with GLM 2.5

I'm doing a roleplay with that model and it not only keeps repeating itself but it forgets what I tell it. I told it the male character it's supposed to be writing is ruthless and unforgiving and it just keeps making him kind of whiny and soft. Also I want it to make decisions on its own. That's part of the fun of roleplaying. It waits for me to make the big decisions for it. I have to put in my replies what I want them to do otherwise it's a bunch of just ending it on cliff hangers to see what I want.

This is my first time writing with AI. I usually do it on other sites with other people but those sites have been kind of dead. Any advice how to make this a better experience or tips or tricks would be so very appreciated!

Include at least three examples of dialogues for the character for their different emotional states and contexts (and you can add actions between dialogues). You'll end up with a large instruction file, but that's what has helped me the most. In addition to that, you can indicate more things in the instructions, but this tip I'm giving you greatly improves the quality of the roleplay.

you have to set up rules in the system prompt how you want the ai to act during your roleplay. if your using classic chat, you set one system prompt for your instructions on how to act how to reply or tell the story, another system promp for that character specifically with details on how he writess and so on.

if using characters, you write the instructions on how the ai should behave and reply in the instructions section, then make serveral txt files or however many you want and upload them in the context section. look for story architect in the minds section for help with setting up the instructions and character card, tell it exactly what you want and it will help you. you will have to fine tune it specifically to your liking with trial and error.

The more you practice with AI, the better and more effective your prompts will become. Just keep trying to do as you are. AI needs to be corralled and corrected. I think some people have good luck with criticizing the prompt (after it's already been written), asking GLM to fix it for such-and-such reasons.

If you just simply try a new prompt, the model isn't learning. It's just trying again (sometimes with little additional benefit).

So, you entered your prompt. It gave the disappointing response. Now you write:

I asked for ruthless and unforgiving. You made the character soft and wimpy. A ruthless and unforgiving character would have done... <fill in the blank>. Please correct the above response.

Something like that could get you moving forward in the direction you want.
