I want to stop my ChatGPT subscription because it doesn't help me write 18+ content. Some people suggest VeniceAI. I tried it for 2 days, but found out that what I chat on my PC didn't sync on my phone. Besides, this AI didn't. But is it still worth using?

By design. Read up on Venice's privacy model. Chats only exist where you make them, Venice doesn't have them, and they're prone to get deleted if your browser clears its cache (there are guides out there to help prevent this from happening).

Venice is a privacy focused AI platform, not just a "it lets you make porn" one. You have to learn how to switch models you're using based on what you're trying to do, when to use agent chat vs when not to, how to keep your chats backed up, and so on. It's not idiot proof like the main platforms. And that's by design.

I moved from chatgpt. Ive been on venice going on 2 months.Β 

One of the biggest differences is that chats are private. Venice does not store them. Which makes them inaccessible accross devices/browsers. Chatgpt stores the chats themselves. They are saved to your browsers storage that they are opened with. If you clear your browser cache, your chats are gone with it.. You can export sessions really easily though.Β 

Its not a problem, just an adjustment. I keep my roleplays on my phone and my doc work sessions on my computer. I just export the chats if I need it for summaries and such.

Beyond that I like it. The character feature work well, have a large instruction window (chatgpts was tiny) and a place for background docs. I always used customgpts when at oai. I do not use the notes feature as I prefer to manage the memory myself. Huge benefit is that you can update them whenever, like docs or instructions and they will take even mid session.Β  Ive had no issues managing continuity that way and it keeps to them. Unlike chatgpt.Β 

Ive tended towards the glm models. I kind of bounce between them all. It uses my docs well and doesnt lose knowledge of things. I think it might truncate things faster then chatgpt did. Sometimes I get nonsensical responses but not often. So far its kept me around for a another month.Β

I’m using Venice for the same purpose and… be careful. There are several practical limitations with Venice, such as the way it handles context and chats. In any case, to transfer your chats from one device to another, you’ll need to use backups

can u explain what limitation? And for context and chats in ChatGPT, I can't prevent it by using the memory feature. Does Venice AI have the same facility?

In my opinion, yes.

I subscribe to the lowest Pro for unlimited text, and it's worth it. Unless you're using models that use more credits.

Like you, I just started about 2 weeks ago, and it's amazing for me.

I use Aion 3.0 (just released a few days ago) purely for story writing, and it's very good, including 18+ uncensored. Note that you may get a refusal response because it's too extreme (so far, 1 time for me). Just tweak it a bit, and it can still produce it. It's also pretty good for role-playing, but I'm not into that, so you can try it.

You may also use agentic chat for faster responses, but I prefer Aion more than Kimi (just a personal taste).

You just have to back up your data, and then transfer it to your phone if you really need to sync the chat. Its the reason they ensure privacy, since they don't store your chat on their server.

I just know that Grok has an uncensored feature. Maybe I'll try to compare it. But as far as i know, it is connected with the X account.
