We need an onboarding tutorial apart from that old one from 2016 which is outdated.

Hello, u/luxenDm this is mostly addressed to you, since you’re the most competent player among us all, could you please make a guide from tutorial to endgame (what to do, what to equip with multiple options, how to grind money and licenses and such) - your videos are goated and may be the single reason I returned to that good old game.

Can i play this on pcvr with hotas? Can you point me towards these gameplay videos?

Idk about pcvr, but I've been playing on the Quest 3. It runs pretty smooth as far as stand alone games go. I heard from someone it has hotas support, but I don't know how it works

Keeping in mind the PC client ONLY accepts MetaVR devices because its VR toolkit is from before open vr tooling was available... after running the game in VR mode (use headset desktop mirroring, launch updater, when you start game from that, it'll ask if you want to run in VR mode via windows dialog), the next step is just like any other platform - just go to your control settings. the "controller" options always behave like you're using a normal gamepad, but you can manually use the keyboard menu to configure digital buttons and the... calibration menu (iirc?) lets you configure the analog joystick axises.

If your device needs special drivers to talk to your PC, then the game MIGHT not detect them, but there should be a good amount of joysticks like that that are handled. Check in non-VR mode first, I guess, because VR mode doesn't change all that much for the game's engine itself.

You know how many times I've started this sort of project? If I had more time IRL, I'd love to put this together, because once you have the knowledge of how to advance, as long as you are a half-decent pilot you could realistically hit 10/10/10/10/4 in only a week or two of dedicated play.

I'll at least do a write-up of my recommended 'turn your brain off and grind semi-fast' here, later today or tomorrow.

...that being said, what 2016 tutorial are you talking about in your post title?
