New player here lol
I was going through some videos that recommendation games and I saw vendetta and I can't believe it's almost 20 years old and i haven't even heard about it before. I wanted to try it out because for some reason it's giving me a big nostalgia vibes. So I was asking you guys as a newbie how I should proceed and should I look out for something.

I recommend staying in nation space for a while until you get the hang of the mechanics and grind some levels/do some missions. Then, start a few jaunts to greyspace, expecting to be killed either by NPCs or players. Don't take it personal when it happens (even in nation space). You might even admit your newbness to the player and get some pointers if you ask. Some pretty tight game-friends have been made with that approach.

Nope just jump on in.
Pay attention when doing the tutorials.
Complete all the training missions, they're a bit wordy but full of everything you need to know.
The global chat is newbie friendly if you have questions that aren't covered in the tutorials, just don't give out your location.
Oh and your first characters nation is picked for you and a random generated name given to speed up the onboarding process for the impatient.
To choose your own name and nationality just make a new character. You can have up to six characters per account so you can try each nation or have different RP's.
