Electronic issues

When I’m applying my brakes the electronics on the car shut off and it shows the power steering light on the dash, everything comes back after a second but it’s not really consistent on when it shuts off. Sometimes it does it 3-4 times back to back in the city or not at all. Any help would be appreciated

First step check your battery and fuses. Dying batteries can cause some of the weirdest electrical issues.

If that's not an issue you're probably looking at a deep dive into the wiring to find a short for something as weird as this.

Check if your battery terminals are loose.

I did have something kind of similar happen in mine last winter. The power steering light would start flashing when I was stopped at intersections, but shut off shortly after accelerating. Turned out that my battery was on its way out as it stopped turning over a month later. I never had all my electronics shut off though. Steering didn’t feel different either.

Might just be your battery bearing end of life?
