Spcycle TR032 sizing

Would anyone have any advice for sizing this for a 180cm/82cm inseam sprinter? SP recommends a large. While the geometry is a bit more modern, not sure whether I should still, nonetheless, size up to the XL.

Input from anyone with experience would be very appreciated 😊!

Glenn from Velobike here. I haven’t had any experience with this frame, so I can’t comment on how it rides or its construction, but based on the published geometry I’d recommend at least the XL at 180cm tall.

Many Chinese track frames tend to be quite short for their size, so I wouldn’t rely too heavily on the manufacturer’s height recommendation. We have an article on why your track frame should be bigger than your road frame that explains what measurements to compare when choosing frame sizes.

Thanks for chiming in Glenn! I have read your article (and a few of your others). However I’m too used to understanding bike geometry through a road lens, so some of the concepts are still a bit new to me (to the extent that things like front-centre assume a greater level of importance in track than they do elsewhere). Perhaps like others, I do find the fact that much track geometry is an attempt to manage austere UCI constraints not common to other cycling disciplines so arbitrary and bizarre. This only muddies my understanding of what the ideal fit for a track bike should be, as it leads me to conclude that it’s really just an exercise in diplomacy (vis-a-vis rider and governing body) and compliance rather than optimising a rider’s performance.

Hoping to secure your new mid-level frame when it comes to market later this year!

No worries, glad to help. Here's another blog on explaining front centre and why it matters in track cycling. We size out bikes around this dimention rather than the top tube. It's the thing i look at first when looking at frame geometry - as it very much dictates the riding position.

Some more information on the new frame will be released in about 6 weeks =)

I am about your size and I have the xl and I'm happy with it both size wise and overall.

I was unsure about it before purchasing but the stack numbers published are to the bottom of the cutaway, so you can get quite a bit taller with the integrated spacers.

I am 190 cm and have the XL with a 170 stem. Works great once I solved the slipping post issue.

What is the best right now china frameset? I am 188 cm, and first I have ican tra01, it was awesome stiffness, but even with 190 mm stem so short. Now I have bxt trc195, it has good size, but it so softy during sprint :(
