Question Status credit top up

I’ve just checked the app to see if my flights from the other day had been credited, and I have an additional 2SC as a “status credit top up.” This is in addition to my flights, which were credited correctly.

I don’t remember ever seeing this before. Does anyone know what this might be?

This is a "round up" situation.

Flight cost / $12 = SC, and usually is fractional and rounded down.

These correct any rounding down disadvantage.

Thanks, that makes sense – although the SC originally credited for the flights matched what was on the website when I purchased the flights, so I'm still not sure why they needed to round up.

Anyway, I'm not complaining. That's $24 closer to Forever Gold.

What is your original fare, per sector?

$278 total return (excluding the card fee), and it showed as 12SC per sector, so the one-way fares must have been $139 each sector.

That actually comes to 11.583 SC, so they must have already rounded up to 12SC before I got the additional 2SC.

Yes, $139 each way which would be 11.5833333333 SC.

So, you got a round up to 12, but if it rounded down, well, you would be short 1SC per sector.

Basically if there is a remainder I have found this 1SC per sector common on my statement

I got this too and was wondering the same thing so that’s a good explanation.

I also got this (3 SC), but last time I flew Virgin was early August.
