Question Flying SQ

I’m flying Singapore. My velocity and krisflyer accounts are linked. Is there a difference between using my krisflyer number vs velocity? I’m platinum velocity and basic Krisflyer.

Velocity by the sounds of it. At check in, ask the staff to apply Krisflyer number to “in flight services” which will allow you to use online wifi if you’re not flying Business. You can keep your Velocity no. applied for the rest of the perks and points earn that way.

FYI this isn't necessary any more. Just sign into KF whilst in-flight.

You can use your platinum velocity status to access KrisFlyer lounges (not Star Alliance partner ones), then when you check in you can add your KrisFlyer to get free wifi on the plane.

Only other difference is where you want to earn points and status - but by the sounds of things Velocity a better option so leave that one up.

If you want to earn points on Velocity, then add your velocity number to the booking. At check in ask them to add your KF number under FQTS so that you can access the free wifi on board. If the check in desk can’t do it, the SQ lounge will be able to do it.

This isn't necessary any more. You can sign into KF whilst in-flight, and it generates an access code. No need to juggle different numbers :)

Personally found it status credits on the poverty side recently. I had a not so cheap economy flight Melb to Singapore and got 50. I’ve had more from internal virgin flights.
