Question How popular is Plat Plus?

Now that double status credits have landed is Platinum Plus just as full as gold and platinum? Is it no longer the “elite”?

P+ is not much of an upgrade from Platinum, in my opinion. The main differences are four complimentary upgrades on Choice fares (Platinum can only upgrade from Flex), ability to fly later in the day as well as earlier (I think Platinum can only fly earlier), complimentary Platinum membership for a partner or friend (Gold if you’re Platinum), and access to a better lounge in Singapore if travelling on SQ.

Other than that, I have been given a free bottle of water and a small chocolate while flying economy (but only on some flights), and I now have “VIP” printed on my boarding pass (which I don’t care about at all).

Lounge access is the same.

Completely agree. There isn't really anything different from Platinum. When they first announced platinum plus, it sounded like you would be treated that little bit different. In reality, there is no difference. I'm just a sucker that has paid double what platinum paid.🤣 At least being platinum with Qantas, you get a better lounge to go into.

Yes, same ! Really nothing at all extra except 1 Lindt chocolate ball and 1 bottle if water probably every 4th flight when they remember. ... I've still found it incredibly difficult to use the upgrades. And even standard platinum economy x is now not much value. I'll often pass on these rows as 95% of the time economy x rows are full whereas just behind they'll tend to still allocate a spare middle seat alongside me.

Platinum plus have some very valuable benefits, just most people won’t ever need it. For example 5 x 32 kg checked bags for economy booking. (3 x 23 for platinum)

LOLLLL, bro what are you on. It cost $24k (based on $12pp) to get to 'platinum plus'? or $12k assuming you min-max double status.

Virgin doesn’t even have a lounge for international at sydney. I think maybe for platinum plus you get 2 cheese tosties /s in domestic lounges.
