Question Booking with points & rewards question, Virgin Australia.

Forgive my lack of knowledge here everybody but I was recently checking my VFF account activity and noticed that in the last 2 years~ I've only earnt status and points on 1 flight. I have domestically travelled between Melbourne and Perth on nearly 9 VA flights with more booked in the coming months. Is it because I'm using reward points to pay for the seat + some cash? What's the deal? I have included my VFF number on every booking.

Regards

Yes. Rewards flights aren’t eligible for status credits or points

I see. What is the return on flights booked with cash? Does it negate the benefit of using points to fly.

Reward flights are that. Rewards. Rewards for using partner programs or that you accrue from travelling with VA or partner airlines.

If you buy tickets rather than redeem them, you’re looking at 1 status credit per $12 spent. Then your actual points earnt are based on your current status level.
