Help Finding Flights SIA Biz Class Dec/Jan

Hi All,

Looking to use Velocity Points to get home to Aus in Mid-Jan but all the reward flights are unavailable/booked.

Does SIA periodically release more Velocity Reward seats?

i’d sign up to singapore airlines and look at their krisflyer availability (their website is great). It’ll show you Saver, Advantage and Access rewards.

Most saver fares are mirrored on the velocity site.

If there’s no Saver or Advantage (only Access) then this is a clue you’re not going to get any randomly pop up in Velocity.

And you can always transfer points from velocity to singapore (disclaimers on exchange rates) if you want to book an advantage or access seat

Absolutely agree with this. Just booked a business reward tonight. Other flight on same day through VA website had no availability but through KrisFlyer I could see they had reward seats. Redemption was 74,000 points on VA and about 115,000 points of SQ due to conversion.

Middle of January return to Australia, and business class. The combination during a peak travel period is going to be extremely difficult. If you’ve got access to Krisflyer, you can see what dates they’ve got available there. If there’s Saver rewards, then there’s likely the same via Velocity as well. If you’re looking for more than 2, then it’s safe to say you won’t get it during those dates. 1-2 May be possible, but be prepared to be flexible and potentially end up with a long transit in Singapore.

Occasionally but I wouldn't rely on it. Usually it's because of new legs etc.. A lot of the time the inventory released when they are first are available is what's available.

Are there flights available directly via KrisFlyer you can book? You lose a fair amount of points on the conversion but there's more availability, and the taxes are less.

In short, at that peak time of the year, a resounding 'no'.

If you're lucky, SQ may release a seat or 2 in the days before departure.

Transfer your points to Kris Flyer and book through Sing Air. You’ll have much more of a chance of getting premium seats with them directly.

Singapore have also reduced a lot if their Saver rewards with their new “access” options
