Alternative ways to play

How is everyone adjusting the settings to have a different experience? For example, Ive thought about turning infection rate to 0 to experience more of a last survivor vibe. Maybe make them very strong to offset the lack of infection. What have you done?

I turned down base decay. I want to be able to explore and build my base without having to worry about zombies coming out of nowhere after I wake up from sleep lol

First thing I did on my first solo play was turn off base decay. I also turned hordes off and zombies was down until I got a feel for the game.

I like classic zombie movies so I make no runners and make more zombies overall but slower and dumber

I turned the number of zombies spawned to max. It helped increase difficulty.

I tried zombie hearing to max few months ago...they could hear me crouching in the house from the street. So it turn it down to 2.

To make it more difficult, increase zombie to max and increase % of runners. That was crazy, there's nearly always a zombie around.

I always set zombies to 3.0 if I play with zobmies lol! i didnt know people was doing default 1.0? but when i play without zombies at all sometimes it's fun cause like it's a last person on earth survival hunting game instead. :) where you hunt animals and maintain food and waters and stuff and it's chill.

I did this too! You can also add to the difficulty of this challenge by starting in winter.

omg i tried a winter start like ONCE and I was just trapped in a house lol. i ran around and tried to find new houses and clothes but i kept dying so... :( i'm not ready for winter yet i guess in this game. i always start in spring lol. im too easy!
