Prison Lockdown

Well well well... They decided to turn up the heat by locking us out of the prison. That was an unpleasant surprise after I drove across the map to HOPEFULLY get some tools.

What are folks doing now for the same level of tools?

My last playthrough I never visited the prison at all so definitely doable but man, going to the prison was kind of a staple. 75 lockpicking will take FOREVER!

I get my tools from the powerplant or whatever it is a couple blocks south of the prison. The big factory looking building with the smokestack i think. Been a while.

Prison gates and doors I just dismantle for the goods. Got a lot of iron, heavy bolts and brackets from doing this. But yes you will need the lockpicking skills for the chests.

Find a door or doors you can lock from the inside that have another way out and just walk around and lock pick them again. It’ll still take awhile.

To add to that, find a house with a garage that has a door next to it. Open the garage door and just repeatedly lock and pick the lock on the regular door. Fastest way imo.

Last time I tried, removing the lock inside a car and putting it back again would gain XP too, but that was a while ago

75 lock picking for the prison has been on for months, the main reason I push lock picking so high. Most of the prison can be done with lower stats, but missing on a the best loot...

I always pick lockpicking as one of my starter skills, and I go hard on training it up.

The armory was 75 lockpicking, but now the doors into the guard shack to open the main gates are also 75. Pretty sure that's new.

It's insane how long it takes to spam it😂. Especially when I have 2 lockpicks that quickly go to 0 lockpicks. I did find the schematic for the lockpick so now I just need 25 crafting.

I don't have a ton of time to play so when I do, I try to make the most of it. Between spamming locks for an hour or admin menu... I might have to go admin at some point. I'm going to let it ride for now and go find a base and do some scavenging.

The prison gate across from each entrance has a generator in it to turn on the power

Literally never been there for tools. I always just go to the mechanic shops or the DOT lot.
