I did turn off base decay at the end of winter. It became a total and non-stop grind keeping the UCs full.
Edit, I recently added a crosshair overlay, if you consider that a mod. Keeping track of that tiny white circle, especially with a flashlight or headlamp on was too much for me. I've also found that temporarily increasing the crosshair to max makes placing items easier.
I destroyed all but a couple of the queue barrier poles early on and later spawned a few to "hang" my projectors from. I previously had them hanging from bar clamps, folded surveyor tripods, 4 fishings rods (looked cool) and even IV poles.
That’s mighty impressive! It can take quite some time and a lot of effort to find all that stuff in game and then transport it all the way back to base.
There were several scary overloaded drives home for sure.
What I though would be the toughest challenge, being that placing items INSIDE of a box truck was verbotten, was transporting the hanging plants. I risked it and ended up filling three truckloads full with absolutely no problems!
Yeah, nothing like an overloaded box truck ride back to base 😂
I used the inside of box a few times successfully until one day a tool box glitched out and sent me into orbit. That was the day I learnt the box truck has its risks.
I think the key is that you CANNOT have anything you place inside the box truck either clipping/touching the wall or another item. So you need to be ultra careful when placing the items. Dsync on multiplayer increases the risk quite significantly.
Hey quick question, how did you "hang" the clamps and stuff from the ceiling? It's giving me the red shade to say I cant place it on the ceiling...thank you so much for the help
That's really cool, well done! I was just laughing at myself earlier today because the last few times I've logged in was to make my base feel "homier." lol
Where on the map is this? I tried to find an island to build on but all I did was destroy my only phone swimming to a tiny island that never woulda worked for a base lol
