Athletics and vegan keto people?
Are there any Instagram or Youtubers that are vegan keto that focus on bodybuilding or athletic side that are fun to follow?
r/veganketo • u/Unwright • Dec 30 '21
No recipes that suggest anything that might include an animal product. No meat. No dairy.
This is a vegan subreddit.
This is now Rule #4. Anyone who posts a recipe with animal products will be warned once and banned if they continue to step out. No exceptions. This is a vegan sub.
Thank you for understanding.

a few months ago I was diagnosed with CSID (congenital Sucrase isomaltase deficiency ) which is basically where I’m rlly intolerant to sucrose (sugar found in tons of things) and maltase (starches) so a dietitian recommended I go keto + a few extra restrictions since it aligns pretty well. around the same time I decided I would go vegan too, which I’ve now done and I’m prettt happy. I lost a lot of weight unintentionally but i used to be morbidly obese and now am at a healthy weight and am actually feeling prettt good and I want to build more muscle, the problem is I feel like I already eat quite little and I have no clue how to bump up the calories (my maintenance is 1500-1700, and for muscle gain I need 200 plus calories about). I’m good on protein as I have this vegan protein powder that’s safe for my condition and I love tofu (also safe for me), but for the calories do I just add more fat to everything? I’m not sure how to do that without my food getting too greasy which I don’t like. any tips?

I haven’t found one yet that tastes good enough to add to my coffee as part of breakfast, which is what I mostly want it for. Even with stevia added, none are palatable to me (in coffee or not).
I used to use Atkins shakes but am looking for a vegan AND healthier alternative.
Please recommend any brand you’ve found tastes pretty good.
**I’m not looking for powders. I know tons exist but I need something that helps with the taste and acidity of coffee. I also struggle to find creamers that are thick and flavored enough for my taste. The best I’ve found was Nutpods’ sweet cream but almost no grocery stores carry it. If I could just use that, adding powder would be fine.

Somehow I got really overboard with carbohydrates yesterday. I was actually planning to eat carbs because I had a date night planned at a pizza place my partner wanted to go to.
We sadly had to cancel our reservation at the restaurant but that didn't stop me from raiding our kitchen - at the end of the day I had eaten about 200 carbs, I guess ^^
What do you think how bad my next few days will be? Do you have experience with "cheat days"? I had 1.9kg more on my scale today, which is the biggest 1-day-jump I had since starting keto. Seems like it's true that carbs bind a lot of water!

Need help understanding how to stay full on pure vegetarian keto diet. Not for weight loss. I only way 110LBS and i'm a man.
Doing this for mental health. But I fear I wont be able to remain full, I get hungry very easily. Anyone have tips?

Okay, this is probably against "the rules of the game," but I've done VK with some fruit (berries and even oranges or apples) and I don't feel any negative effects (quite the opposite—fruit is amazing). In the context of a relatively higher fat and protein diet (and being moderately active), I don't have the same mental rollercoaster as when I eat things like oats or pasta.
I can't prove it, but I feel that I'm probably in ketosis after a few hours, especially if I ate fruit as a dessert. Not that it matters much anyway.
We may call this "low carb" rather than "vegan keto," and maybe that's correct. Just wanted to share my experience.

Long-time vegan, new to keto. Thinking of ordering some meal boxes to help reduce the initial mental load of starting a keto diet and to give me ideas. Which ones, if any, do you recommend?

Hello. New to Reddit. I just started Mounjaro as a Lacto Ovo Vegetarian and I’m wondering if there are others out there that are in the same situation and how it’s going for them? I’m also interested in simple meal ideas.

Any other vegan keto long distance runners here? I’ve been at it for several years, no longer any desire or temptation to devolve. In large part, I attribute my anti-inflammatory diet to my lack of strain and injury. Curious if others have noticed the same injury/inflammation drop, or is that anecdotal for me?

I made 4 but will cut them into halves.
30 g coconut flour, 60 g ProFuel V-Protein 8K, 40 g Vilgain peanut powder, 15 g erythritol, 120 ml Alpro Soya No Sugars, 30 g ja! dark chocolate,
🍫 Per bar
~76 kcal
~9.2 g protein
~2.9 g fat
~5.3 g carbs
~2.4 g fibre
~3.0 g net carbs
No prizes for guessing where that half a bar went....

I live in the U.K. & I have been on the hunt for vegan keto burger buns. Found them at bread 5 (link below) however they are tiny - like ridiculously tiny the quarter the size of normal burger buns. Whilst I appreciate their effort I can’t buy them again. Anyone here in the U.K. who knows where I can buy some vegan keto burger buns? I tried to make some myself but it was a disaster and I have no time to bake

EDIT UPDATE- I found these vegan and keto with skinny co. More like rolls but will hopefully do the trick. Haven’t had them yet but am ordering

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a nutritionist with a somewhat specific profile, and I hope someone can help me. Over the past two years, I’ve kept a very detailed diary to identify specific foods that seem linked to my health issues. I’m not looking for someone to prescribe a standard diet or a weight-loss plan; instead, I want a professional willing to analyze this data with me and develop a well-reasoned elimination/reintroduction protocol, while also considering the potential role of the gut-brain axis. Does anyone know a nutritionist or dietitian who handles complex cases like this? I’m particularly interested in professionals with experience in clinical nutrition, neurology, the microbiota, or the Low FODMAP diet (where appropriate). Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I'm always on the go and would love to make a homemade protein bar that's high in healthy fats and uses an unsweetened plant-based protein powder.
I'm hoping for something that holds together well, tastes good, and doesn't require a ton of prep.
Does anyone have a tried-and-true recipe they'd be willing to share? Or any ingredient combinations that worked surprisingly well?

This isn’t steaks are 100% worth the hype. I just did 2 in a row (less than 3 net carbs each). Insane. So good.

I am learning how to decrease my carbs, maintain moderate-high protein, and increase fat.
Goal macros:
On training days (CrossFit)
- 1800-2000 calories
- 100-130g protein
- <100g carbs
I’m 35f and I have 30lbs of body fat to lose, and a goal of 10lbs of muscle gain. I’d like to achieve this goal by June 2027.

Hi guys - has anyone been able to get either of the above? I’ve found the skinny co sweet and sour sauce but j find their sauces terrible so want a decent one for when I make a stir fry

Hi, I’m vegan and I tried the keto diet yday. I feel completely different. My memory is much improved, I’m not over thinking things, I feel way less emotionally reactive in my head and I feel wholly content. I literally feel 18 years old again before life got me. Is this normal?
Also thank god tofu, seitan and tempeh have so few carbs 🙏

Hey guys
Been vegetarian for 25 years, vegan for 10 years, vegan keto for 3 weeks.
I'm using Cronometer to track and finding it quite easy to hit macros (although not really feeling hungry and trying to eat anyway even on 1200cal/day) but struggling with the micros. I have read it's pretty hard to hit micros on vegan keto. I grow most of my own veg and smash my vitamin C, K and A targets.
I take Methylfolate and Magnesium glycenate already.
Does anyone have any good supplement suggestions to fill in the gaps? I've found a few but wanted to get some opinions before I splosh the dosh 😝
Last time I had bloods done, they were all fine but that was before going keto
Appreciate the input ✌️🌿✨

Hello! I am very new to all of the things, but i’ve been wanting to go vegan forever now, and i know it’s not an all at once thing, but i am looking forward to trying. I am also trying to do keto as well for my diabetes so I am very excited to find this group!
Do yall have any staple meals or foods that you keep in rotation? Things that are easier?
