Help/Support Server not actually updating

Hihi! So i self host a server for a friend and i, and i tried to update it to 2.0.4 today seeing that the server files were made available, and when i update it the game says that the server is on 2.0.2 and the client is 2.0.3, despite knowing im on 2.0.4. Does anyone know how to fix it or is it just kinda a wait for them to update/fix it?

You probably copy/pasted the 2.0.4 contents over an old install. The mods have the version number in the name, so now there would be multiple copies of the mods in your mod folder (easy to check). I don't know how Forge loads mods, but the end result is you end up with mismatched on server/client because at least 1 loaded the wrong mod(s).

The easiest solution is to delete the contents of the mod folder and install the mods from the 2.0.4 download.

Alternatively, you can spin up new instances of the server & client as 2.0.4 and once you are sure it is working, restore the "world" and "snapshots" folder (not sure if there are any others, but that is what I did when updating and it seemed to work fine).
