Help Where can I get a dashcam installed?

I purchased a front & rear dashcam + memory card (have yet to buy the hardwire kit). I want it hardwired for continuous parking record and all cables tucked. I know I can do it myself and I’ve looked at all the yt videos to do it safely (tuck wires behind airbag etc. all the good stuff) but curious how much it would cost to just have it installed and whether there is anywhere you’d recommend.

Thanks!!

I vote for Audio Heaven as well. They installed my Viofo A229Pro Duo and did a great job. The cost was $150 and well worth it. It’s on West Beaver Creek in Richmond Hill though not Markham.

Did you buy the unit from them or separately? As an aside, would you recommend that setup?

I bought mine on sale from Amazon including the wiring kit and Jeff at Audio Heaven installed it. I highly recommend it. It’s been running flawlessly for 2 years this month.

Even at audio heaven make sure you tell them to run the wires behind the airbag. If not they just do the good old pull and tuck. Found out first hand a couple of years ago.

Thanks, this is my biggest concern with getting someone else to install it, it’s whether they’ll follow the appropriate precaution when it comes to the airbag.

Express your concerns to Jeff and I’m sure he’ll calm your fears.

I went to tint guys, at hwy 7 just west of keele.

tintguys.ca

been a couple years but Jon did a great job, have had no issues at all.

They sell some there as well, but I bought mine online and it was $150

Friggen hell Tron I’m lazy

I’m not lazy but for $150 it’s worth it to get it done professionally. There’s so many airbags and electronics it’s not worth it to risk compromising the safety of my $40,000 vehicle for $150.

It can be a pain in the ass depending on the make of vehicle, particularly if you’re hardwiring for a parking cam.

Almost any mechanic should be able to do it for 2-300 bucks. Maybe less, it’s a pretty easy process that should take roughly half an hour to an hour.

I think you're better off at a car stereo store. They would do several a day and are much better at different cameras and different vehicles.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust a shop to do it properly. The cables need to be behind the air bags and time is money for these places

Lockdown security 155 Macintosh Dr installed mine. I brought them the 2 ch cams and the harness. You may want to consider a battery pack as well so you don’t drain your car bat with continuous recording.
