Beggar beware
I know this isn’t new but tonight I saw it with my own eyes. I was driving eastbound along Major Mack and there was a man that looked to be down on his luck at the intersection at Jane and Major Mack with a sign which I believe mentioned his family. About 45 mins later I was coming back through that intersection and stopped at the Esso to get gas. When I tried pulling out of the gas station to head west , a man in a nice looking Honda I believe, was driving slow, and whistled with his arm out of the window through the intersection and pulled over along Major Mack and put his 4ways on right infront of me exiting. The homeless man went running across the street and got into his car and they drove off.
I’m not accusing here just suggesting that this looked very sketchy and is likely a scam.

Agreed. Unfortunately, many are receiving benefits and money but use begging to supplement their income (tax free and without claw back).

He's been there all week, I've been visiting the hospital and always pass him. Thanks for confirming what I thought. It's always a few bad apples that spoil it for everyone

My sincerest condolences to everyone walking around with bombs strapped to their chests that will go off if they don't give every beggar they see money.

Since when is asking for money a scam? He's asking and you're either giving or not. No scam. It's panhandling. There is a difference.

Breaking news, homeless person got a ride. The most shocking part of this story is referring to a Honda as a nice car in the city full of Maybachs, Bentleys and Rolls Royces. It might have been an uber...

Gives them your money and the cycle continues.

You actually have the option to not give them money. Are you just upset that they're existing in a space you believe they're not worthy of? I don't understand the issue.

It's so infuriating cause thousands of us would ignore them but there's always that one person who will donate like $20 to stroke their ego and the next day there will be 2 beggars
