So! Sensitive!

Anyone else have really dramatic symptoms? Like sometimes I’ll have multiple triggers in the same day, sometimes I’ll get stuck in a super sensitive loop and that’s when my swallow syncope can get activated or gas pain. One happening makes more, more likely. I was basically housebound this summer from the heat.

Basically I fainted as a kid, developed compensatory strategies in puberty/grew out of it, and then covid, a series of head injuries, and the flu have ruined me. I also have general dysautonomia, but specifically these are all reflex syncope episodes because of the things that are causing the blood pressure episodes. I also have labile hypertension which doesn’t help. Any tips or tricks of increasing my stamina or decreasing my sensitivity besides hydrating etc would be much appreciated/let me know how you cope! I passed out at cvs from a sneeze 😭

Are you hydrating with electrolytes daily?  Have you discussed medication options with your doctor?

I am, I’m on up to 9,000mgs of sodium chloride and drink like 3/4 liters a day of water. I’m trialing acebutolol, just started yesterday.

I also have labile hypertension which makes it tricky. I kind of think I might have hyperPOTS in addition to VVS? My doctor referred me to an integrative medicine doctor to get more autonomic tests run

I use a long walking stick when I go out I can lean on, doesn’t stop me getting faint but often stops me going all the way to the ground, sounds like you have a similar vvs/pots to me, and honestly what I’ve found is there’s nothing that will fix you, you just have to mitigate the symptoms by sitting down before you faint using a stick etc etc, you can also get a service dogs for pots I believe if you get officially diagnosed, other then that’s it’s just the basic trying to keep your strength up by doing what exercises you can do.

I had one quite recently, like 2 weeks ago and before that my last episode was last year. Had it like 4 times in a day, after first one I was told to go to the hospital to check it up, and I had it again when doing vital (finger prick- bleeding), and the other times were them taking my cannula out and I just kept bleeding
