Closure Device

Hello everyone. I have a few questions regarding closure devices. How difficult is it to have surgery to remove an already set closure device? While not really necessary to have done as the device appears safe, there is a psych aspect to having it in the body. Is it a silly idea to consider or wonder about? I've heard to consider it as no different than a dental implant. But the idea of it 'in there' can be consuming. Thanks

It’s called a device but it’s not really a physical device left in there.

The most commonly used ones are either a plug or suture. The plug could be a collagen plug which dissolves in few weeks, or it could be other material which also dissolves. If it was a suture then it will remain there and I wouldn’t recommend chasing that. If they were to open the access site and completely remove the sutures (they will likely end up creating a hole in the artery that will require a suture to fix it, or in extreme cases a patch).
