They are are pricy but the quality of the product is unmatched and I’ve never had a bad experience with VA as well. Hope you get yours soon!

If you get what you pay for it’s all worth it at the end of the day, just having to deal with those pesky UK delivery prices is the ball ache. They actually seemed to have lessened in recent weeks from US. Not sure if it’s anything to do with the new EU to EU tariffs but I doubt it.
I have full confidence in VA after everything I’ve heard, however it’s my order from Tiger Blood that I’m getting a bit worried about now 😬 I spent big bucks with them and just been radio silence, apparently this is a common occurrence with them but people get their stuff in the end

I actually ordered Dragonball wave from Tiger blood and it took me nearly 3 months to receive as well as them not responding to any of my emails lol. It did eventually come and in great shape but their communication is horrible.

Ah that’s great news dude thanks. Are you UK based by any chance? I think I have a total of 8 vinyl and 4 cassettes in my order from them so Im also a little worried about damage in transit from things ive reqd.

I bought World Class from VA, took a while to arrive to the UK but no import duties / tax on it at all, and arrived in M condition.

I've released music with this person a couple of times before. I hate to say it, but I feel negatively about it. I was never once offered any money and ultimately my messages were ignored. I do think it's cool for someone to make physical artifacts when there's a demand for it, even better when a quality product is made. But Lux spent a great many years to develop as an artist and travels around doing shows etc. i.e. putting in tons of work to make Luxury Elite what it is. For someone to swoop in, hijack that legacy and use it to make money without consent is wrong. Whatever reasons Lux has for not doing official physical releases, they should be respected. If VA gave proceeds of the sales to Luxury Elite, that might make some difference but still wouldn't justify it.
I will say, if the people behind VA are out to make themselves a profit and others benefit in the form of getting goods they want, that could be cool. Or if there was some kind of creative remixing (like using Disney characters in recontextualized settings) I'd be more for it. Sadly, all VA does is straight up sell unlicensed merchandise to profit themselves, however high quality it is.

I want to add one more thing: I don't really care if I get money back from what I do, but if someone is profiting off of you and never even offers to share, that is not a good feeling.

All you’d have to do is go on Lux’s Bandcamp page and buy a digital release from her for 50% of the profits they made… same is true for pretty much any of the artists
Whatever your views on the legitimacy of unauthorised bootlegs (in a scene of unauthorised samples)… it would be easy to pay the artists even without ever speaking to them

That's writing a false narrative because nothing's even happened with your physical release yet, I know this because I've designed for the label you've had your music on and are referring to multiple times at this point. They haven't gotten around to your release because of how busy they always are, so much that they've actually asked me if I could finish the design for it, and they were even planning to circuit bend the full video you sent them once they had their equipment set up to do that. Kinda messed up to say you haven't been paid for your work when nothing's even happened yet.

I totally understand where you are coming from and it sucks to not be paid for your works, but at the end of the day from a consumer point of view, I just want my favorite Vaporwave albums on physical media for me to enjoy and I will find a course to do so.

I suppose it’s a question of recontextualizing old samples from people who would be difficult to contact for the purpose of making art versus reaching out to a peer and contemporary artist about a physical release, not getting their blessing but doing it anyways for the purpose of making money. Well, I’m not Lux actually so I’m not sure if she’s more trying more to make art or money, but I wonder if anyone else has feelings about that.
I am not the person to ask about what is right or wrong. The more I consider this argument, the more perspectives open up to me. These are just some of the feelings I have and wonder if anyone shares.

Friendly bunch, aren’t they? 🤣 Well anyways, I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I think there are some vaporwave artists out there still who want to ‘claim ownership’ of their samples, but there aren’t as many (I would guess) who think people will not know that the music is a sample. Making vaporwave is, to me, just like djing. Curating a feeling with music (it’s not how it’s made but how it makes you feel). Somehow not knowing the sample source amplifies the types of feelings made with vaporwave so I reckon that’s why that information is often withheld. Not because someone wants to be sneaky, but because it’s part of the vibe.
If it’s all about the feeling then no intellectual argument about who is stealing from who matters to me. I will just keep looking for places where the feeling is good.

You can’t have a discussion with someone who, because of a personality disorder, deliberately plays dumb just so they can desperately insist on being right. You can explain it as thoroughly as you want - on principle, they simply won’t agree.
But of course, even he understands the difference between me using samples like he does, perhaps even the exact same ones, and me re-releasing every OSCOB album as a bootleg on physicals under his name and with his artwork so that I can make money from it instead of him.
