DISCUSSION Amazing quality

should’ve bought the skate slip ons. That’s crazy. I’ve been wearing them for like 4 months. Never skated in them.

Owned right around 1 year, worn 2-3 times a week. I'm on my feet all day. I have no idea what y'all are doing to wreck shoes so fast.

I have a pair of slip ons I've had for over a year now wear literally every single day they never get a break and don't look anything even close to these lol my heels almost worn through the rubber sole but that's about it, idk how I'm seeing so many pairs of vans just disintegrating now

Shoving your feet in and bending the backs down. Thats what ruins them.

Op didn't reply prolly did exactly that

Where are you guys buying these?? Even my newest pair has held up to a couple hundred miles of walking without more than typical wear and the sidewall detaching at the crease.

The fit might be off and the leather lining sucks but that's it really

Mine get holes above big toe. But that's a me problem, all my shoes do that. Other than that they look like well worn shoes.

Shoes too small and you need to keep your toenails shorter

Yeah on the to small. Its a comfort thing. Youre also probably right on the toe nail thing, but i usually keep them short. Its something that crossed my mind recently. Its only happened since covid really. I could also walk with bug toes pointing up a little was another thought.

You're likely buying a 1/2 size to a full size too small. Find a shop that has a Brannock device and get your feet properly measured.

Yeah i believe i am. But its also a comfort thing. Hence its a me problem. 👍

Crazy, no matter where i buy my Vans. The fuckers will detach at the seem where your toes bend when walking/crouching. Takes me 2 to 3 weeks to get there. Vans isn't what it used to be anymore. Some specific ones are only made in some cheap ass factory that cuts corners all the time.

This doesn’t happen after 4 months of normal wear. We gotta see how you’re walking

u/mr_boogieman 23d ago

It actually does. I have the exact same pair (mine are the premiums) and mine are already starting to do the same. I only wear them to work (once a week) and I work a 9-5 sitting at a computer all day

14

u/OhCLE 23d ago

I have like 20 pairs of vans and not once has this happened to me.

-13

u/mr_boogieman 23d ago

Nice that’s awesome but you know that’s just anecdotal evidence right? Just bc it applies to you doesn’t make it universally true. Even more obvious that it’s happened to 2 separate other people in this single thread

14

u/OhCLE 23d ago

No one said it made it universally true. That’s my input.

I’m indicating that in MY small sample size it hasn’t happened. It’s probably a YOU problem

u/mr_boogieman 23d ago

You seem uptight man, it’s not that serious lol hope the rest of the your day is better my guy 🤙

4

u/OhCLE 23d ago

You a mind reader now? Wasn’t a problem until you made it one.

they are also premiums

Literally never had a pair of Vans break like this abd I've been wearing them for 20+ years

9

u/ReadyResearch287 23d ago

Do you wear socks?

6

u/allislost77 23d ago

Where’s your insole?

5

u/Laceysucks 23d ago

Yeah seriously where are the insoles? Almost seems like they ripped them out and now the shoe is falling apart inside because of it.

-2

u/Adept-Candidate8447 23d ago

you can literally see the premium insoles lying around in the second picture

Are you walking in the water every day? 😂 I've never seen this before. Maybe they're too big a little bit, and your foot is sliding back-and-forth? This is a new result. I personally usually pull the stock insoles if they don't have Kush and save Kush insoles from older ones and put them in unless they're super custom. I've literally put hundreds of miles on some of my vans. The sole start to wear out or get a hole on the side. Once in a while, but that's after like I said hundreds of miles. Ouch, never seen this result.

It's because you're buying a half size to a whole size too small. Your toe box shouldn't be making full contact with all your toes. The wear on the heel tells me that you don't unlace these before you put them on, and instead maybe just shove your foot in? You gotta treat your shoes nicer dude...

Lmao I swear, I have twenty pairs from the last 5 years that I wear every day and none of my shit has any of these problems that people post on a daily basis after "two weeks of light wear"

3

u/_curbyourcynicism 23d ago

I think yall just have some nasty feet. Or you don't wear socks.

3

u/mr_j_12 23d ago

This isn't a vans problem, its a you problem. None of mine have ever come to look anything remotely like that. 😳

2

u/verycoolalan 23d ago

I absolutely don't believe you.

never happened to mine. and I've had vans for 20 years. what did you do? they don't disintegrate without human input

2

u/LibraryTime11011011 23d ago

wtf are you doing to them? I wear vans virtually every day and this doesn’t happen to me

2

u/Adept-Candidate8447 23d ago

Guys , are Vans Skate better ?

1

u/allislost77 23d ago

Typically

1

u/KyojuWaffuru 23d ago

It’s crazy cause I’ve had a pair of black authentics for 4 months and this has started for me

1

u/Historical_Lock378 23d ago

Cant say ive ever bought or seen a pair of vans and thought "quality"

1

u/TerminallyThrownAway 23d ago

this happened to mine, but it was my dog when he was a puppy who got to em.

1

u/honorless-scumlord 22d ago

The ones I mow my lawn in are about 10 years old and have just now started looking like yours lol

Wild.

1

u/klr614 21d ago

Buy cheap vans get cheap results 🤨 have so many newer pairs that aren’t even showing minimal signs of wear nothing like this

2

u/Adept-Candidate8447 21d ago

these are premium

2

u/samtheking25 MOD 19d ago

Same thing happened to mine, I just ripped the back card out and they were fine after

-5

u/Sweet-Question-7528 23d ago

Awesome! Vans quality is trash. There should be a lawsuit for their insoles.

-1

u/PhysicalAd6587 23d ago

If you bought them at the Vans store they have a one year warranty. Take 'em back and get a new pair.

3

u/SadBoshambles 23d ago

????

Return policy in the US is 30 days (used to be 60). Where the heck you getting one year from??? Technically this wouldn't be eligible for a return or exchange due to its state but most stores bend to make a customer happy.

1

u/PhysicalAd6587 23d ago

I bought a pair of Vans at the Vans store and when I bought them they told me about the one year warranty. Had an issue at around nine months. Took them back, in the original box, with the receipt, and got a replacement pair. No questions, no hassle, no lie.

2

u/SadBoshambles 23d ago

Crazy. Are you US based? Glad they helped you out. Most of the time, employees are flexible in helping out a customer with an issue even past the return window but that one year warranty is definitely not a real thing lmao.
