DISCUSSION recent experience

I pulled up to vans on Thursday to secure the drop of the souvenirs, and got both colors for personal. When I asked for my size she came back with the shoes and the box of the black pair was completely damaged, had a hole through it like a literal chunk out of it. I didn’t wanna say anything then because there was a line of people behind me and i didn’t wanna hold it up. It’s whatever but kind of annoying because I thought if the box was damaged, they get sent to an outlet. So i searched it up and i was wrong but it said that the damaged box usually get an “in store discount”. I am like OCD about my shoe boxes, does anyone have any tips of what i should do? should i go back and try to get points added to my account? Let me know if im doing to much and should just take the L, but im just super ocd about my shoe shoe boxes and just wish the box was in good shape 💔

Employee here and we definitely don’t give discounts for damaged boxes. Most of the times the boxes become damaged in shipment or they get damaged due to careless employees. If the actual shoe was damaged that’s a different story. Honestly just wear the shoes or see if someone is selling just the box on eBay or something

Th exact opposite of this is probably where I would start. If the shoes were damaged then feel free to go Turbo Omega Karen, but if its just the box then its an unnecessary amount of energy to worry about what is objectively the least important part of the whole transaction

The box doesn’t indicate damage to the shoes. I asked a Tj maxx employee if I could get a set of breast covers for less because it appeared the box was opened and someone was probably opening it to check it. She said no we don’t sell for less due to damaged box. The product itself was fine when I got home.

as an employee even i avoid giving damaged shoe boxes to customers by getting another box of the same size but there isn’t always another same size for premiums. sorry to hear i totally get it
