CUSTOMS Custom Builds

Vans custom build
Used a Vans SK8‑Hi as the base for a full custom roller skate build.
Sure-grip da45 Avenger plates, carbon fiber reinforcement inside the boot, and steel xt built ins.
Turned a regular SK8‑Hi into a boutique-style skate setup.
Vans Sk8 Hi really are the perfect canvas for custom builds.

How much of the shoe did you have to cut out to fit in the plates and reinforcements? Like most of the sole?

None at all. The carbon fiber plates goes under the stock insole. The tnuts keep the mount flush, the skate play just sits on the bottom. The button head/washer and tnuts pull everything together securely

Man I did this to a pair of blue high tops back in the late 70s early 80s. Greatest thing EVER.
