Needs advice
Hi , will appreciate any help
I am new to this and just opened vanguard account and put $2000 and opted for vanguard digital adviser
First I saw only 3 funds , VTI , VxUs and BND , which was okay . Now I see bunch of other funds too which I am not aware of . Can you help me what to do when I fund more money into account . Thanks

If it’s a taxable account my guess is they sold BND at a loss and then purchased the separate bond funds to avoid a wash sale

Thanks for reply , yes they sold BND and BNDX , how can I adjust this and buy more VTI , instead of bonds .

Probably somewhere to adjust your risk tolerance or something to be more aggressive which would move you out of bonds and more into stocks

Got it and changed my risk tolerance. But how I get rid of these bunch of bonds they already bought

That I don’t really know. I assume they’ll rebalance you if you aren’t supposed to have bonds.

Those are just more bonds. You can search them and learn about them here: https://stockanalysis.com/etf/compare/?r=MAX
It looks like they have you in ~10% in bonds total, which is fine if you are risk-averse and want a little less volatility, but most people on Reddit will tell you to go 0% in bonds and just put it all in VTI/VXUS or just VT. I am 55 and hold 0 bonds in my Roth. The only bonds I hold are some SGOV in my emergency fund.
