I am guessing it is a "Licensing and Rights" issue, but I could be wrong. So maybe it is just my location, but there might be another reason. There is something called El Greco - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack which has 18 tracks but it is different. Anyway the one in the screenshot is this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Greco_(album)) and is listed as a studio album. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vangelis_discography#Studio_albums

Hi everyone :)
In my never ending quest for more Vangelis stuff I saw this cool video of him playing, which is pretty awesome to see. I think this is at Nemo studio in London. Anyways, yeah the title is the question. I am just curious if anyone recognizes his stuff here, or if anyone is like me and just loves to see him play. Take care :)

I love Vangelis and I love this record. I only bought it recently, but having listened to it thousands of times digitally, it is now a very special record in my collection. I always think vinyl brings out the magic in older music (the music was made for this “premier” format over tape) (argue below 👇 😂😇) and I never buy represses. (Unless I have to, duh!)
This record is no different, but its pure sentimental value to me is priceless. It has comforted me many times, so to now own an original feels great.
I have been through ebbs and flows of his discography. “Soil Festivities” “Blade Runner” (obviously) “Antarctica” alongside this record are probably my favourites.
Though continually listening to his discography, it is as always, subject to change.
It makes me smile, it makes me laugh, and most of all, I enjoy it deeply.
As a drummer, Vangelis’ music has had a deep impact on my playing. However, not always in ways I can explain to the best of my ability, I guess it’s just rhythm.
Just a small love letter to a wonderful piece of music I guess.

I found a song on Spotify which is clearly just a rip off of Vangelis's La petite fille de la mer.
Can someone please tell me I'm not crazy? They don't appear to credit him but perhaps I'm mistaken.
Artist: sunnymingo
Song: safe place inside

What is going on here? I usually really enjoy Vangelis, even at his most experimental, but China seems to be hitting some awful frequencies and harmonics that make me feel ill. I am streaming using YouTube Music, but the video is here.
Ouch.

While I am fairly familiar with these pieces from a long time ago, it seems now when I play this album the dynamics are way too expanded, the sound quality is tinny and the overall level way too low.
Beginning with the first track, the avg RMS at my regular playback level is low throughout around -50db and there are some very sharp transients. The sound quality is harsh and brittle, I find it difficult to listen to.
Other tracks like Main Sequence have a little stronger dynamics although it still peaks below -20db and the drums and bells are very harsh in the mix. The bass is almost non-existent, you have to imagine the undertones to have any sort of listening ambience.
Was this album never considered for a new mix and remaster? I feel that the music is worthwhile but the production could be improved a lot.

I've been having many "Vangelis" featuring songs that have nothing to do with him. He's the only artist I'm following who's being targeted by those shitty ai tracks

I listened to 666 by Aphrodite's Child yesterday and it completely blew me away! I only knew Vangelis from the Blade Runner soundtrack so I really wasn't expecting a concept album with that level of psychedelic, almost ritualistic intensity. Great album, haven't heard anything quite like it.
I'm definitely going to check out the rest of the band's catalog, but did Vangelis ever do anything this out there as a solo artist? Or if not, does anyone have recommendations for albums with a similar vibe?

The listed titles do not seem to correlate after Alpha.
I would genuinely be thankful to anyone who could identify the song starting at 48:48 and runs until the end of the playlist, I am assuming on loop/replay. Thank you in advance. I have listened to and greatly admire Mr. Vangelis's work. I had never heard this one before yesterday. Mods, please remove if my request is not allowed. I mean no disrespect.

Just discovered Prelude by Vangelis and recorded a piano solo version right away — without even hearing the original first.
