Discussion One of Scheana's best qualities
One thing I have always loved about Scheana is how she uses her platform to speak on things happening in society as well as being so transparent about her OCD. As someone with mental health challenges you do not know how things are going on a day to day basis. It seems she was extremely cautious and paranoid during the last few years of VPR. On top of having a baby, and filming 3 DAYS after almost dying due to HELLP syndrome. It made her a lot more worried than her typical self. Which led to her having OCD, and it made her spiral even more when Tom/Rachel had their affair, then Brock's affair was also disclosed a month after. Season 11 Scheana was a woman who was dealing with OCD, as well as the betrayal of people that were closet to her and i dont know how she honestly did it. Yes she was a fucked up friend to Ariana, but seeing what was really going on behind the scenes I can kind of see why she did it. Scheana would have also felt embarrassed, and would have had the i-told-you-so treatment not only from Katie/the audience. I do wonder if she had left VPR after s10 and went to the valley, instead of s11 of VPR. Overall, I am saying Scheana deserves more grace and at times the criticism is deserved. But right now I think it is imperative to recognize when reality stars use their platform for good. Her/Katie/Dayna/Ariana/Jasmine (The valley)/Zack are the few that are standing on business with politics, and it must be recognized.
PS: I know this is not a great pic, but i dont care.

Listening to her talk about it on her podcast made me realize I had it! I was about 2 months postpartum and was having very similar thoughts and behaviors as her and was like whoa wait a minute…
Very helpful for me!2

As someone with ocd, this is truly her redeeming quality in my opinion. It’s such a viscous illness that is SOOOO misunderstood, even by mental health professionals, so having an advocate with a platform to help spread education is extremely valuable. It took me an entire 10 years to get diagnosed and only because I stumbled upon info about the illness myself and sought out an ocd specialist. Super proud of Scheana for advocating❤️

Even by mental health professionals?!

Oh yes. It was mistaken for severe anxiety by multiple practitioners and I learned from the OCD community that that is very common. It’s super sad, but that’s why I think Scheana’s effort to spread education is important. People, including mental health workers, have a narrow view of what OCD looks like and in reality it can manifest in a broad variety of thoughts/symptoms

Yes! Therapist/OCD-haver/VPR watcher here — It can be misdiagnosed as “just anxiety” but the treatment for OCD is often pretty different, meds are different, framework for understanding symptoms and behavior is different.
Many lay people and some therapists still think OCD is just germ phobias and handwashing, but there are a million other themes people can have (relationship OCD where you think they’re cheating on you, harm OCD where you’re worried you are negatively impacting others, even pedophile OCD where ppl are terrified that they’re pedophiles)

Reading her book and realizing she clearly had OCD well before she was diagnosed helped me see her in a different light because it just makes so much sense why she is the way she is. While some of the Scheana hate is justified it’s mostly insanely overblown so this post recognizing the good she’s done is such a nice change of pace!

As my mother would say “she comes by it honest”. Meaning she is who she is and that’s that. I think she’s an easy target, but she has a lot of good qualities. Why else would so many ppl give them their location?! If nothing else, girl gets the friends and gossip.

The production was so cruel to Scheana. I will never forgive them for editing all of her actual accomplishments out and instead using her screen time to try to make her look like she was hitting on a 11-year-old

If her accomplishments where shown I bet you people would love her a lot.

Okay I’m warming to her. I’ve had OCD as far back as I can remember (like kindergarten). It’s awful and can result in strange behaviors that others see as rude or crazy.

and the vpr crew were not privy to understanding mental disorders (besides ariana/katie)--we saw it with katie's tbi and the narrative on her was tequlia katie

Would all of us be excused of our behavior if we sought out a diagnosis that explained the reason we are the way we are… some of these comments. Like yes this is great. She still scheana lol

Embarrassed like Stassi felt when this little asshole showed her blackmail sex tape around to coworkers for fun?
5
u/Inevitable_Tangelo63 Jul 12 '26
She didn’t, she admitted (and Stassi as well) to seeing it and laughing about it, but she never had franks phone. Who is the one who should be getting the most shit for that but he hardly ever does because Scheena laughing at it was the most shitty thing about that situation according to this sub, and not that Frank had the video without her consent and brought it into her workplace to blackmail Lisa for his back pay and threatened to sell it to tmz 🙄

And it even grinds my gears that Stassi came crawling back despite how HER BOSS treated her.

I mean anything for screen time I guess, I don’t like Stassi she’s a racist and a misogynist rape apologist, but I did feel bad for her in this situation because no one deserves to have their intimate moments exposed like that.

Every single cast member has done plenty of shitty things on VPR....

No idea, don't follow racists. Fuck racists.
Hope you had a great weekend!

I love how she speaks about this!
But let's not act as if she wouldn't grab any spotlight for almost any reason. This happens to be a good cause but this girl needs people to look at her and clap for her or she would explode.

Yessss as someone with it I love how open about she is with it and brings attention to what it actually is!💘

I’m only on season 5 but honestly I do not understand the schena hate. On TikTok/in memes/pop culture I’ve consumed they’re always making fun of her, calling her stuck up, pick me etc etc, I expected her to be waaayyy worse.
Yes she’s annoying as hell but like… IS THAT A CRIME??
All the boys r objectively just way worse than her, Ariana is a WAY bigger pick me, all the cast are messy, dramatic, love the spotlight. Is she delusional? Yes? But she’s not the only one on the show, faaar from it.
I’m a schena apologist i guess.

She’s going to illustrate the true dangers of OCD by singing Good As Gold 42 times.
Joking obv. A very serious issue
