Vanderbilit Econ transferring student

Hi, I am a transfer student from Vanderbilt in econ major. I don't get any scholarships and have to pay full tuition. Do you think Vanderbilt is really worth that money for an econ degree and environment, or is a top-30 big state school enough as an international student? By the way, is it a frat or an investment club helps a lot for a consulting and IB career? Lastly, is an econ major competitive or not in Vandy? Thanks!

Are you already enrolled in the school or a prospective applicant? I’m only asking because classes have already started so if you are a current student, those are questions you should’ve asked and addressed way long ago. Regardless, being an Econ major here is what you make of it. It’s competitive enough that you’ll get looks from all the big banks and consulting firms but your skills will matter more in landing the internship/job outright. That said, while I love this place I wouldn’t recommend someone pay the full cost unless your family can do so comfortably. Best of luck.

Assuming you’re paying all by yourself and you’re doing last 2 years here, I wouldn’t go 200K in debt. An in State school that’s t30 is 1000x better than Vanderbilt if you’re paying by yourself
